With Mazlo, you can generate donor acknowledgement letters automatically when you, a team member, or one of your projects tags a donation with a tax-eligible code. You can then customize the tax letter, download it as a PDF, or email the letter directly to the donor.
Within your organization's accounting settings, you can open your accounting codes to enable eligibility to receive a donor acknowledgement letter with a tax receipt.
When you open Accounting, first you'll land on your organization's live P&L. Click on the 'Accounting Codes' tab to start building your chart of accounts.
Select a revenue code you want to enable the tax letter eligibility for. Click on the code to edit it.
It will turn green when it's activated.
Click on the Transaction to open its details.
Now, any incoming revenue reconciled with this code will appear on your tax letters page.
From the drop-down menu, select 'Personalized Note.'
Add the message you'd like to include on the tax acknowledgement. Click Save once complete.
Select 'Download PDF' to download a PDF version of the document. You may prefer to print and physically mail tax letters, which makes this option ideal.
Select 'Download Only' or 'Download and Mark as Sent.'
Review the acknowledgement download.
Select 'Send' from the drop-down menu.
In seconds, your donor will receive a personalized thank you email with their donation acknowledgment
They will also receive a PDF attachment for easy access.
With the 'Sent' filter, you can review all the donor acknowledgements that have been sent via email or marked as sent during a download.
