Review and Approve a Project's Budget
Review and approve a project's budget in Mazlo so project admins can track their actual spend against their budget in real time.
Introduction
In Mazlo, project can build budgets and submit them for your review. Every budget can be adjusted if needed, to align with the organization's chart of accounts. Once approved, the project's budget will track the actual spend as they tag transactions with accounting codes.
Review the Project's Budget
Step 1: Access the Submitted Budgets
Navigate to Settings > Accounting > Budget. From the drop-down menu, select the project's account.
Step 2: Review Budget Entries
See the proposed maximum and minimum amounts for each accounting code.
Step 3: Adjust as Needed
Edit any values to better align with your oversight and guidelines.
Step 4: Approve the Budget
Once reviewed, click Approve to finalize the project’s budget.
Step 5: Automatic Spend Tracking
As accounting codes are tagged to the project's transactions, Mazlo will automatically reflect the actual spend, allowing you to monitor the project's budget in real time.
💡 Note: Projects receive email notifications when their budget is approved. Sponsors also receive an email when a budget is submitted.
