Splitting expenses in Mazlo lets you split payments between project accounts or sub-projects. This functionality is particularly useful for making payments for specialized programs with your Mazlo card or ACH (payment requests), ensuring that each expenditure is paid by the accurate project or sub-project.
Splitting card payments ensures accurate reimbursement for the accounts making the payment.
Click 'Select an account.’
Select the target account for this reimbursement of the card payment.
Enter the amount that will be transferred from the target account.
When a split has been allocated, the amount of the first row needs to be adjusted. When a transaction is perfectly balanced, the sum of all the rows will equal the original amount.
Mark the transaction as complete.
Click save.
If the amount of a row is $0.00, click ‘Yes’ to confirm that this is intentional.
Review the internal transfer of the split and click ‘Confirm.’
From the Transactions list, each row will have two transactions: a debit from the target account and a credit to the primary account.
When a Transaction is split, the Sponsor’s Transaction list shows both sides of the internal transfer: a debit ( - ) and a credit ( + ).
This credit acts as a reimbursement from a different account or sub-project.
