With Mazlo, fiscal sponsors and project teams can code check deposits with their accounting code, tag it to a donor with a unique profile, and tag it to a grant to track funding. Additionally, you can generate a tax letter for every donation saved with a tax-eligible code.
First, open the check you want to code by clicking on it within your Transactions list.
You can quickly review the details of this transaction to understand what needs to be updated.
Click the Check Deposit link to review the check images.
You can also download the check images to your files by clicking on each image. *If you don't see the images in your downloads folder, please ensure you have allowed pop-ups in your browser settings.
Select the donor's name to tag their profile to this check deposit.
Click on the Accounting Code field.
Select the correct revenue code for this transaction.
Add an internal note to capture the memo or save details for your team to review.
This note can give context to the check, signal a reminder, or be left blank.
Click Choose Files to upload any relevant documents to this transaction.
*This may include a donation letter, a grant award letter, a receipt, or any documents sent with the check.
If the transaction is for a grant, select the correct grant to track it.
*You may also leave this blank if the check is not connected to a Grant.
Finally, review all the details to ensure they are correct, mark the transaction as Complete.
Then click Save.
When a transaction is marked as complete, you can see the green check in your transactions list. All complete transactions contribute to your live P&L.
