Mazlo allows you to split a transaction for multiple purposes, helping fiscal sponsors and projects build detailed reports. This means you can record exactly what each part of a transaction is for. Simply open a transaction, add an extra accounting line, and segment the amount to code it for different purposes.
If a donation is for multiple purposes, you can record these details by adding a line item for each purpose.
With a new line item created, you can set the amount that is different for this purpose.
Edit the credit amount in line item 1 to reach a perfectly balanced transaction. Subtract the amount of line item 2 from line item 1.
A perfectly balanced transaction will follow this simple equation: Line item 1 + Line item 2 = Total Amount
Click on the Accounting Code field.
Then select the revenue code that identifies this check correctly.
Within the internal notes, record donor restrictions for each portion of the donation.
If a portion of this donation is for a grant, you can tag the grant within a specific line item, without allocating the full amount towards the grant (line item 1 will not be tagged towards the grant funding).
If a Mazlo card payment includes multiple expenses, you can record this directly within the transaction details.
With a new line item created, you can enter the amount to segment different elements of the purchase, such as multiple items of goods purchased together.
Edit the debit amount in line item 1 to reach a perfectly balanced transaction. Subtract the amount of line item 2 from line item 1.

Upload an attachment of the invoice and receipt.
Open an ACH payment to split it for multiple purposes.
If an ACH payment includes multiple expenses, you can record this directly within the transaction details.
With a new line item created, you can enter the amount to segment different elements of the purchase, such as a payment for goods in addition to a service.
Edit the debit amount in line item 1 to reach a perfectly balanced transaction. Subtract the amount of line item 2 from line item 1.
